Onto Blood Bank, right? Beach Baby is my favorite Bon Iver song of all time, so I'll be ready for that. I'm not new either, but I like to think I'm better.įuck this glorious song and album. I needed to replace a sun of my own, because my own love was down in a frozen ground. This song speaks to me in this weird ass time more than I'd like to admit. Not sure how, but I got through it with the help of someone new. Recently got out of a pretty devastating bout with someone I thought I was pretty much fallen for. The inclusion of the "black crow" as Justin's depression is genius as all hell, and the addition of it even faking a toss makes me smile like a goddamn idiot for no reason at all. On your back with your racks as the stacks are your load In the back and the racks and the stacks of your load In the back with your racks and youre un-stacking your load This is not the sound of. 1 re: Stacks Lyrics Verse 1 This my excavation and to day is Kumran Everything that happens is from now on This is pouring rain, this is paralyzed Verse 2 I keep throwing it down two. It's really wonderful, actually.Īs has been said, "Your love will be safe with me," is a gorgeous line, and a fitting end to a beautifully broken album. Songs like Skinny Love and The Wolves are sorrowful reflections, while this looks back on those memories with a sense of forward motion. Lyrics to 'Re:Stacks' by BON IVER: This my excavation and today is Kumran / Everything that happens is from now on / This is pouring rain, this is paralyzed / I keep throwing it down two / Hundred at a time / Its hard to find it when you knew it / When your moneys gone and youre drunk as hell / Chorus: / On you. This song is sweet as all hell, and holds a bit of hope in an otherwise pretty downcast album. Just this weekend, I decided to put it on after watching an analysis video of it for shits, and I immediately realized how wrong I was. But, then again, I also said the same thing about Calgary, and they both had the same reasons: I didn't fully listen to them. I remember I used to admit that I wasn't too crazy about re: Stacks around this subreddit a lot. Charlie Simpson Re: Stacks lyrics: This my excavation and today is kumran. It's the sound of the unlocking and the lift away In the back and the racks and the stacks of your load Whatever could it be that has brought me to this loss? There's a black crow sitting across from me Īnd he's dangling my keys he even fakes a toss The fountain in the front yard is rusted out I've been twisting to the sun I needed to replace In the back and the racks of the stacks are your load Whatever could it be that has brought me to this loss On your back with your racks as the stacks as your load. Meowmeow We felt like covering one of our favourite songs, recorded in our mom's garden in Israel with. When your money's gone and you're drunk as hell Thoughts, other interpretations of the chorus? Apologies if I'm totally off base or if this is already treaded ground, just found it interesting.I keep throwing it down two-hundred at a time The last stanza, the unlocking and the lift away, now truly comes at the end of the song and at the end of the journey. While on the surface the former version makes more sense, "your" makes the song more linear. Now, the singer is in the back with the unstacking of the load. Justin plays with grammar and parts of speech a lot, so it would make un-stacking into less of a verb and more of a noun. My personal reading is that the singer at times is the "you" figure, as well as the black crow, which would mean that the singer is freeing up his own life. Obviously, this is subject to personal interpretation. The "you" figure is unstacking the load, freeing up the singer and granting him autonomy and the means to move forward. The online version of the lyrics makes more sense (on the surface). Also, in the last line of the chorus, google tells me it's "and you're un-stacking your load" where the lyric sheet says "and your unstacking your load." Obviously, the lyric sheet seems grammatically incorrect, but I'm wondering (and half-assuming) that this was intentional by Justin. In the back with your racks and youre un-stacking your load. There are a few differences between the lyric sheet (which matches up with BI's website) and what I found online, notably punctuation, capitalization at the beginning of lines, and where lines break. I've got the For Emma vinyl, which came with a lyrics sheet. Hey, doing a project for a class on lyrical analysis and I decided to take a look at re: stacks.
